The Life Recovery Society Nonprofit Team

Rick Fannin

Rick Fannin obtained his Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from DeVry University. He spent the first 23 years of his career as a VP of Information Technology at Big Lots, a Fortune 500 closeout retailer. Rick spent the next five years as the owner of a Technology consulting agency focusing on data privacy, compliance, and security. It was his struggles with addiction that lead him to find his life’s purpose and passion, which is to help others who struggle in life and with addiction. Rick has worked as a substance abuse counselor at both dual diagnosis and Faith-Based addiction treatment agencies. Rick is pursuing his Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University and will begin his internship in October at CrossRoads Counseling, a Faith-Based counseling centers, focusing on trauma and sexual addiction. Rick is a firm believer in a person-centered, Faith-based, and integrated approach in treating co-occurring trauma and substance abuse. This holistic approach helps individuals find their path to recovery and find their purpose and passion in life. Rick is also the ministry leader of Celebrate Recovery at Cypress church.

Christy Fay

Christy received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education k-8 from Ohio University in 1994. Christy’s passion for teaching later led her to obtain a Master’s Degree in Computer Education and Technology. Among her employment adventures, she has applied her interpersonal skills as an Adult Basic Literacy Education instructor, a Public Library Clerk, and several more positions where she naturally built rapport with the public. As an owner/operator of two retail pet stores from 2000-2009, she gained immense entrepreneurial knowledge. Christy currently displays her ease in communicating with others as a Digital Literacy and Art teacher in a private Catholic school where she instructs 3-year-olds through 8th-grade students.

With an ever-growing foundation in Faith, welcoming aura, and a genuinely positive zest for life, Christy looks forward to being an engaging and inspiring role model while interacting with all participants of Life Recovery Society.
